I saw the most AMAZING post from LOST IN A STORY with the most AMAZING idea to help cut down my ridiculously large TBR! Thank you so much for creating this post!!

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS: (straight from original post)

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

Every week I will be going through 10 books on my Goodreads TBR and purging as many as I feel comfortable with. Most likely these posts will go up on a Wednesday. Currently I have 300 to go through and this number is always being added to, so hopefully this will help a lot. Here are my next ten books!

  2. I buy way too many books, so my TBR shelf is slightly heavier, because I feel like I have to read them all! So I start most of them and then decide whether I want to finish them or return them for a refund. The problem is, I have lots of books I read only through 10%! It doesn’t bother me much, because often you learn quite a lot from a nonfiction book if you read 10% 🙂 Fiction is trickier, because I forget the names of the characters and what I learned in the story. So I try to go back and finish some of them while the memories are still fresh, and then when I come back to the ones I forget about, I read the beginning again 🙂

  5. What is this book by Ellen Hopkins and why have I not heard of it before?! I’m flabbergasted. I thought I knew every book she’s written. Who am I even more?! Now I’ve got to rethink my total existence. Okay, maybe a little dramatic, but for real. I’m upset I haven’t heard of this one before.

  26. I haven’t heard a lot of people talking about the Girl With All the Gifts, but what I have heard is all good stuff! I’m been fighting with myself over the movie. Wait to watch, or just go ahead and watch?

  28. I LOVED Maybe Someday, It’s really good!!! I’m also not sure about Ember in the Ashes anymore. It just doesn’t pull me in anymore :\ Great job cleaning up those shelves!

  30. I love this meme! I don’t want to turn you off from reading it, but The Girl with All the Gifts disappointed the crap out of me…it starts out SO WELL and then takes a dive. But, I think you should totally give it a try and judge for yourself – I hope you love it!

  34. I also need to get to Girl With All the Gifts and I loved The Rest of Us Just Live Here (though mostly for the OCD rep and the way that was resolved)
