MY GOODREADS RATING 5/5 STARS

GOODREADS SYNOPSIS:

ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE BLUE. IF YOU HURT US, WE’RE COMING FOR YOU.

Moxie meets Female of the Species in this powerful, thrilling, and deeply resonant novel about a secret society of girls who plot revenge on the men who hurt them.

The enigmatic Black Coats have been exacting vengeance on men who have hurt girls and women for years. The killer of Thea’s cousin went free, and Thea has just received an invitation to join the Black Coats’ balancings—acts of revenge meant to teach a lesson. Justice for Natalie has never felt so close.

But as the balancings escalate in brutality, Thea’s clear-cut mission begins to unravel and she must decide just how far she is willing to go for justice.

Because when the line between justice and revenge is paper thin, it’s hard not to get cut.

MY THOUGHTS:

This book completely blew my mind. I read it because I saw someone (forgive me I can’t remember who right now) recommend it on booktube. I absolutely flew through it and never wanted to put it down. It was such a unique story that I was extremely impressed.

Thea was a great character, she was complex, questioning, and just an interesting character overall. I liked all the other characters as well I felt like they added a lot to the story, whether it was good or bad. I could absolutely see why Thea would get herself involved in this type of society, after still trying to deal with the trauma of losing her cousin.

If you are looking for a book full of kick ass women who pretty much want revenge on people who have wronged them this is the book for you. I love seeing all the character interaction and haul it was a very character based while also being very plot base. Overall I completely loved this book and will probably be reading it again soon.
